Amazingly I have tests every single day this week.
INCLUDING TODAY!!!
What kind of teacher gives their students a test on a Monday ... we have spent the whole weekend NOT doing school stuff and we get back to school and have a test? I say this is crazy talk.
Today I had a math test. Tomorrow I have a Latin quiz on qui quae quod.
I think I'll study right now. Here is some latin for you. Qui, Quae Quod, are relative pronouns like [who, that, which] In latin there is masculin femanine and neuter ... each has its own way to translate them
_____Masculine Femanine Neuter
Nom. qui quae quod
Gen. cuius cuius cuius
Dat. cui cui cui
Acc. quem quam quod
Abl. quo qua quo
PLURAL
Nom. qui quae quae
Gen. quorum quarum quorum
Dat. quibus quibus quibus
Acc. quos quas quae
Abl. quibus quibus quibus
That is how you conjuagate the. :)
You don't have to understand that but just think of it this way ... you helped me study ...
On wednesday I have a History test and a Math test ... Then Thursday I have a Chemestry test. Friday ... I have ANOTHER Latin test ... and a spanish test.
This is WAAAAAY too much testing. I am very upset about this ... but then I get a long weekend to sleep in ...
On saterday I plan to totaly gut my room ... clean it up ... organize it ... and rearrange some stuff so that my room is perfectly perfect in every way ... This is what I did to my iPod this weekend. I made it perfectly perfect in EVERY way. It has not one fault.
Yeah ... even highschoolers feel the need to organize ... maybe not very often ... but we do.
Organization is key in good grades. I need a little bit more organization in my life. It's not that my grades are slipping, but I feel like they might if things don't get cleaned up soon.
I'll try and talk to you tomorrow. If I am not overloaded with homework.
:P
If I don't ... I might have the testing flu.
Talk to you soon.

... Busy Busy Busy ...
Sorry, it has been a few days since I've said anything but I've been really busy. Dance started this week so I was doing that along with the piles of homework I get. I have to write a lab report by Monday ... I need to translate my spanish essay from english into spanish ... I have four pages of math problems ... I have to write down all of the vocabulary for the next chapter in latin ... I have to red a short story for english ... I have a test in history net week so I have to study for that as well.
Speaking of tests, I had two quizzes today. In my two languages. I had a quiz on the vocabulary from chapters 28 and 29 in latin and a quiz on "los paises hispanohablantes" or the spanish speaking countries today as well. The latin quiz was easy it was matching words to definitions, then give the definition of a latin word, and finally give the latin for a definition.
i.e. hair ~ crines
Then in spanish the QUIZ was four pages long. This is a quiz right ... I was thinking, "If this is a quiz how will I ever get through a test in one period." First she was asking questions like how many continents are there, how many of those continents have spanish speaking countries, how many don't, and where in the United States do they speak spanish? These were pretty easy. Of course they had to be answered in complete spanish sentences. This is simple enough, but for many kids in my class this is extremely difficult. Fortunately I am not one of them. The next parts were labeling maps. I had a map of Central America. I had to write the country and its capitol. The same for South America. Then we had Africa, and Indonesia. i didn't finish before the period was up and was a minute late to my net class. I didn't miss anything luckily.
I think I did pretty well, because I had studied the night before ... I was able to do this even though I had dance until 9:00 and homework in every subject. I noticed that I get homework in every subject a lot even though many students don't. It seems that I always get the teachers who like giving homework. A lot of people think that homework isn't worth giving. I personally like it because it reinforces what I learn each day making it easier to take tests and quizzes.
I know that this dance year is going to be hard. I am in the highest tap class. This means a fast pace and hard dance moves. I am in the second highest jazz class which means the exact same thing. My ballet isn't hard per se but it does make my legs hurt. I used muscles in my legs that I didn't even know existed.
I'm going to leave you for tonight ... unfortunate I know but true. Talk to you soon. Forever Conquering High School.

The President
Today in many schools across the nation we had to watch The President give a speech about how important education is. I am one of the many students who works hard on a daily basis. The speech was just things I had heard my parents tell me, except it came from the president. There are many students that do not work as hard as I do an there are probably many that work harder.
I think that working hard is important, because without hard workers the country would fall to pieces. The president spent timeout of his busy schedule to talk to kids about this problem. That is a horrible thing happening to my generation. Laziness is sweeping the nation and infecting hundreds of kids. This is something everyone should be wary of because technology is only increasing the ability to be lazy.
In chemistry I watched my teacher light magnesium on fire. It was very bright and shocked many of the students. What shocked them further was when he dropped the burning magnesium piece onto the lab bench and started whacking it with tongs. The class was in an uproar. I thought that this would be nice to share because it showed how even teachers make mistakes sometimes and their little mistakes may stick with us forever.
I hope that at my fiftieth reunion I can go up to someone who was in our class and say, "Remember when the burning magnesium fell onto the lab bench?" If I can do this then I know that I learned that magnesium was combustible and so If I light something on fire and it burns like that ... that well it is magnesium.
I love it when teachers learn something new from students. In history today Whelihan said something that the teacher didn't know. It shows that even though our generation is lazy, we are still able to learn and grow, even to surpass our teachers to some extent.
I noticed that many students now a days complain about how they will never use the things they are learning right now in high school in their day to day lives. This may be true right now because if I grow up to be a scientist then I won't need to know how to write a shakespearian sonnet, but sometimes in high school we are learning how to learn. We are learning how to learn the things we WILL need in for our jobs.
Everyday people need to learn and everyday people need to take a step away from the lazy life we seem destined for. If we can do that, then anything is possible.

High School
High School - [the dictionary definition] A secondary school attended after elementary and junior high school usually consisting of grades 9 or 10 through 12.
The definition of high school however varies from one student to the next. For some students high school is a living hell. For others, it is the best time of their lives. There are students varying among them as well. The only thing we all agree on is that it is temporary.
Every high school around the world has cliques. There is no way that cliques can be removed from this environment. No amount of poking or prodding, rule making or breaking, or fussing and fidgeting can keep teenagers from grouping together with people they have things in common with. For some, this is simply the fact that they don't fit in with everyone else. My group, clique if you want, is made up of such misfits. We simply do not belong with everyone else, so we stay together.
It has changed over the years, gaining and losing members. The main idea has stayed true though. For most of my early childhood I bounced from one group to another, never really sticking. There were friends I made but they had their groups. Yes, second graders have cliques too. Though they aren't quite as brutal as the high school cliques. Small children hurt each others feeling often though, so the few large groups, over the years, break up into the more commonly known high school cliques.
By middle school our group was forming. There were about five members. This is really small compared to the socially elite groups that had twenty to thirty members. We were insignificant and unappreciated. I left the group for a short while making friends with two other misfits who were alone. I often played the role of mediator merging the misfits together. I brought them back to our small group and so it grew. By eighth grade, a couple of the original members had found a newly formed clique that they could feel comfortable in. The next year, our freshman year, we gained new members.
At the moment our group is seven members strong, with a few outliers here and there. We all have a few friends in other cliques but are not part of that clique. Each school has a different way of explaining the cliques in their school and sometimes one person might not even know all of them do to the vast possibilities there are.
When forming a clique there are three basic factors that people find commonalities.
1. The way other people see them: clothes, hair style, make-up, personality, etc.
Every clique has its own store[s]. Their style is depicted and people who look alike tend to feel more comfortable together. Some stores would go out of business if a certain clique were to vanish from the earth. This isn't always the case because a heavy metal punk rocker can be friends with a brainiac if they have other things in common.
2. The way they see themselves: smart, stupid, lazy, hard working, etc.
Now this is where the whole, "opposites attract," theory comes into play. Lazy students tend to stick with smart students to see if they can mooch off of them. Then again the smart ones are bothered by this and so they tend to stick together. Food for thought is something smart students use to stick together. They bring out each others intellects in arguments and debates.
3. Activities: sports, academics, etc.
Haven't you ever noticed the field hockey team tends to stick together. They are a family on the field so they become a family in the school. Most people bundle all of the sporty people into the "jocks" category and this isn't fair because each sport team might not get along with others. I tend to leave them in their own separate category. This too, isn't always the case because a cheerleader can be friends with a geek. It really depends on all of these factors.
I am one of the people who likes high school. It won't be the highlight of my life but I don't wish I wasn't here. I am a brainiac in a group of misfits and this is me conquering high school.
